INFORMATION
To complement an academic program at
GEOS Languages PLUS
we strongly recom-
mend participation in our Extracurricular Ac-
tivity Program. We offer a broad spectrum of
activities designed to immerse learners into
the cultures, customs and history of their
chosen destination. Students are guaranteed
a well-rounded education, delving deeper
into their areas of interest than would be
possible in a purely classroom setting.
Intercultural competences are a prerequisite
for a career in an international environment.
We ensure learners are fully equipped to deal
with the challenges of intercultural commu-
nication, which is by no means restricted to
the knowledge of a foreign language. By ta-
king part in our well thought out and com-
prehensive extracurricular program learners
are taking a decisive step in the direction of
becoming world citizens.
While inVancouver you will venture to world’s
largest museum of Native American art, and
then enter a world of indigenous mythology
at the Carver-in-Residence. Drumheller, just
outside Calgary, plays host to the world’s
largest collection of dinosaur bones. And of
course, New York boasts the world famous
Guggenheim and the Metropolitan Museum.
Learners at our campus in Playa del Car-
men, Mexico can delve in to the wonders
of ancient Mayan civilization when they
visit the spectacular artefacts of Chichen
Itza and Ek Balam. Spanish history and
culture come together with a visit to
the Palacio Real in Madrid, and a public
reading of Cervantes’ Don Quijote gives
more advanced learners a taste of Spain’s
literary heritage.
Chinese Tradition comes to life in Bei-
jing. Students learn Chinese in the heart
of the Forbidden City, steeped in centu-
ries of history spanning across multiple
dynasties in China’s majestic capital. We
delve even deeper with excursions to
the Temple of Heaven and the Kongfuzi
Temple, as well as with courses in traditi-
onal Chinese painting.
