Whistler Adventure School Whistler's first career training centre and leading school in Sports Management – our new partner in Canada
SC GEOS Languages Plus is happy to present our new pathways partner – Whistler Adventure School (WAS). WAS offers programs like Ski/Alpine/Rock Guide Training, Winter Adventure Tourism and Marketing & Media Manager certificates and many more. Some of the programs include Guaranteed CO-OP placement. In 12 months students can earn the certificate and have valuable work experience. Whistler is a beautiful town north of Vancouver, BC. A lot of excitement awaits students there including Crankworx Whistler Mountain Bike Festival, Zipline Tours and skiing and snowboarding in Whistler Blackcomb. Now Direct Entry to WAS is available for GEOS students (completion of GEOS level 4 or higher). Come Live, Study & Play in Whistler and no IELTS or TOEFL are required.
The courses will educate students on safe backcountry travel and take students into all terrain types. Students will be immersed in all aspects of the world of winter adventure tourism, Snowmobile/ATV Guide, Backcountry Skiing/Snowboarding and Snow Orientation.
Marketing & Media Manager with Co-op
Students will design and produce a portfolio of photo a& video work. Using these newly acquired skills, students will plan and implement a marketing strategy using internet marketing, social media and events to promote any business or product of their choice. This is a 12 months program with Guaranteed Co-op WORK Experience!
Retail & Manufacturing Manager with Co-op (Sports Business)
Focus on developing the strategies of creating and operating a successful small business or manufacturing start up. Courses include Bicycle Mechanic, Ski & Snowboard Production, Boot Fitting, Ski & Snowboard Tuning and The Business of Sport. This is a 12 months program with Guaranteed Co-op WORK Experience!
Rock Guide Training
This program is a sequential set of courses designed to develop the students ability, skills and decision making while working towards becoming a rock guide. Students will need to practice after each course and build a resume of rock climbs and multi pitch experiences.
