The GEOS Study and Volunteer Program in Toronto gives students the opportunity to learn English and gain work experience through volunteering in a real work environment. GEOS strongly believes that studying is just not enough. The volunteer program in Toronto is designed for students who would like to volunteer during their free time after school. Most of our volunteer groups work with Non-Profit Organizations located within walking distance of our school or no more than one hour away by public transportation. GEOS offers a variety of placements in fields including Preschool, Environmental Protection, Senior Care, Animal Care and International Businesses.

Students study at GEOS Languages PLUS in the morning and participate in volunteer activities in the afternoon. By joining the American community through intensive English study, volunteer activities and host family experiences, students can broaden their English learning opportunities. Total immersion in English learning experiences such as this offers excitement, confidence building and satisfaction to all program participants.

1. The chance to work in a Canadian environment. (Use your English with native speakers)
2. The chance to use time productively. (Help others and make friends)
3. The chance to gain valuable experience. (Receive a certificate or a reference letter)
4. The chance to choose from a variety of organizations. (We have connections with over 20 organizations.)
5. Help with your placement. (Application, resume, interviews, police reference check - if required)

• Students can select a volunteer field from six fields.
• Students can request volunteer day from the available volunteer time. Students generally
• Volunteer 2 or 3 times a week.
• There is no minimum English level requirement to participate in this program.
• Program certificate will be provided after you finished the program.
• Minimum 2 weeks notice to organize placement, 4-6 weeks for student group placements

The Volunteer Program from GEOS Languages PLUS gives students the chance to work at a variety of volunteer organizations in Toronto. Students can volunteer in the afternoons, evenings or on weekends.
