GEOS in North America is proud to welcome Spanish students who have received the Becas Grant from the MEC in Spain. To apply, please choose one of our schools from the
list at the bottom of the page or apply through one of our international partners.
Our program for Becas Grant students includes:
English/French* Courses
-16 hours (19 lessons)** per week of English courses (USA - New York & Boston)
-17 hours (20 lessons)** per week of English courses (USA - California & Hawaii)
-20 hours (24 lessons)** per week of English/French* courses (CANADA - All Schools)
* (GEOS Montreal offers both Engilsh and French courses.)
** 1 lesson = 50 minutes

Becas MEC English / French* Program

You can learn English /French with our language courses in North America! These English/French classes are communicative
based with an emphasis on developing speaking and listening skills. Our English/French classes are designed to
help ESL students improve both spoken and written English/French. These courses feature
a comprehensive curriculum of integrated skills - grammar, vocabulary & idioms,
speaking & listening, and reading & writing. You can study English/French with our professional,
experienced and attentive instructors, who guide students towards fluency with creative and helpful
learning activities. With 14 or less students in the classes, students have plenty of opportunity
both to practice their English/French and meet interesting new friends from around the world.
A GEOS English/French class features a comprehensive curriculum with a focus on oral communication - speaking and
listening. Well trained and highly qualified instructors help students improve their conversation skills
through a variety of creative activities. A placement test helps us find the best class level for each student.
Students receive a GEOS certificate when they finish their course that is suitable for their MEC grant requirements.
*GEOS Montreal offers both English and French courses.

SPEAKING. LISTENING. READING. WRITING. GEOS uses the Communicative Language Teaching method. New grammar patterns are learned in the context of a conversation or an article. Students use activities (such as role plays and discussions) to practice English. Practical reading and writing tasks, and vocabulary studies are presented as well. |

PRONUNCIATION. FLUENCY. LISTENING. SPEAKING. Students cover a variety of topics while practicing English conversation management, English conversation styles, and pronunciation. Students learn commonly used idioms and slang in a communicative way. Students use various activities (such as listening tasks and role plays) to practice these new idioms. |
